6:00 am
My bedroom door opens
Nat:
Look Mama Shannon! I got your note! It says "Please leave my door closed so I can sleep a little longer. Please be nice to Selina and play quietly for a while!"
See? See the note? I got your note, Mama Shannon! Look at the note!

And then she jumped in bed with you, right?
:) I bet she was feeling incredibly grown up that she got that note, and had to share :)
So cute!!

Maybe if you write her more notes, the novelty will wear off and she will pay more attention to content? I think Cole should mail her a letter from work every week. Or, heck, maybe she should send Nat some of her grading, and Nat could work on that between 6 and 7 a.m. I bet Nat could get a lot done.

Beth, that is a FAB idea. Passing it on to Cole directly.

My daughter did the same thing the first time I left her a note (I think I was asking to sleep in, too). We had to have a little chat about doing -what the note said- next time. So cute, though exasperating.

Our kids have a noghtlight with an timer> When the light goes on they are allowed out of their room. Before that reading or very queiet playing is allowed. Works a dream but we have been doing this for a few years now..
