Rushing around, but for those of you who aren't on Facebook, or haven't "friended" me there (go do so, now! Photos of the kids await you!), wanted to let you know that I did indeed get the big no from my first agent. I have already sent a new query off to the next one on my short list. Meanwhile, I learned that I made it past only about a 5% cut by getting the initial interest of that first agent, so that is actually quite reassuring.

I'm sorry to hear about the no- at least in part because I'd like to get that book in stores so I can read it and the faster an agent accepts it the faster it happens! But good on passing the 5% mark- hopefully that means the next agent down the list will snap it right up.

It has become really clear to me that it's a "fit" issue and finding an agent who fits is kind of a crap shoot...

Awesome!
Not that you've been rejected, but that you were in a position to be so. It's all progress. I hope you find one that fits perfectly.

Sorry to hear about the no, but congratulations on putting yourself out there. It can be so nerve-wracking, especially when you're attaching a lot of hopes to this manuscript. You're a real example for the rest of us in risking a lot instead of playing it safe.
