Individual Cornish hens stuffed with brown rice, raisins and apples, served on a bed of braised greens (whatever looks yummiest), baked white and sweet potatoes and southern-style biscuits.
Dessert is whatever the guests bring.
X 16-20 (all the RSVPs aren't in)
How about you?

Goodness gracious! Don't bite off more than you can chew, just moving into your new digs! So, what about those southern style biscuits...I am intrigued!

Sounds great! We are continuing a 17 (18?) year tradition of having Thanksgiving dinner with another couple and their children. When we started this tradition we were 4 single people with no kids, no mortgages, "not a care in the world" as we look back on it that's how we remember it.... Now we are 2 couples with 5 boys between us. We take turns hosting and twice we've gone to a state park lodge with a buffet - just for something different. It's been great over the years to share so much with people that are not "officially kin" and it seems to fit since of the 9 people total in our two families, 3 are adopted (2 of the kids and one of the adults) plus two of the not-adopted adults each have a parent that was adopted - follow? So what is "officially kin" anyway??
Happy Day - Give Thanks.

Sounds wonderful -- good for you.
My partner, daughter and I are continuing a 23 year tradition of exactly the same meal -- the same my mom made when I was growing up. Turkey (organic, free range from a family farm near here), bread stuffing, hazelnut stuffing, cranberry jelly straight from the can, cucumbers in sour cream, sauerkraut, corn, carrots, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and chocolate pie. All the veggies (including the sauerkraut) lovingly grown by by partner. Why two stuffings? One of those things upon which we just can't decide! My mom and dad will be at the table as always with only one sister this year -- kind of small, but we are still thankful.
Blessings to all on this holiday.

Sounds elegant!
We'll be at my sister's for thanksgiving. We're still searching for a good vegetarian entree to make and bring. But I'm definitely making turnips braised with maple syrup, and some kind of bread or roll.

Yum! I'm making vegetarian gravy and pouring it over all the side dishes.

We do Cornish hens sometimes and they're very successful.

Sounds tasty.
We are going to friends for the holiday. They do not want us to make anything.

I'm going to the NC mountains to have some bonding time with my boyfriend and his 5 y.o. daughter who I met recently - I had to pass the test first! We will have dinner with some family friends and others who we don't know yet. I'm making sweet potatoes either with marshmallows or a crumble topping and my signature butterscotch gingerbread cookies. I enjoy your blog!

Sounds fantastic! We'll be with friends - they're doing turkey, sweet and mashed potatoes, beans; I'm doing stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and the desserts.
