Humor Me?
A Short Piece on McCain on Adoption
I promise to give blog-readers their very own LilySea Post asap. Meanwhile, please see Strollerderby for frequent, short posts. And does anyone know how to do a nifty little feed on my sidebar to make it easier for readers here to see if there's anything new they want to read over there?
Sorry about the fall-off here. I am doing this new blogging-for-dollars gig, plus my online teaching, plus house-hunting (pst--we have an offer out there--good thoughts please!), plus trying to figure out how to do daily life in a new place, plus dealing with children who are unsettled but don't know how to express that except through crazy acting-out.
More on all that soon, I promise!

That's the URL for the feed for your posts over there.
Does that give you enough to go on? If not, let me know.

Hi Shannon,
I'm writing from Adoptive Families magazine. We love your blog and have listed it in our favorite blogs article (http://www.adoptivefamilies.com/articles.php?aid=1289). We were hoping you would be willing to link to our site, adoptivefamilies.com, as well.
Thanks!

I agree with your first commeter on the other site. That is the quote, "blood pressure rising."
I've been a registered Republican my entire life (don't hate me yet), and I'm now a very strong Obama supporter (t-shirts, signs in the lawn, volunteering, the whole thing). McCain -- I hate the man -- absolutely detest him -- for two reasons: 1) his stunt with his first marriage, and 2), especially, his views on same-sex marriage/adoption. This past summer, my shift away from almost forty years of being Republican, also coincided with naming our lesbian friends as guardians of our daughter should something happen to us. In that sense, as I slowly 'awakened', McCain's statements on same-sex adoption (which I've viewed multiple times on youtube) feel like a personal affront to me. We do not take guardianship of our beloved daughter lightly, and his statements, implying that somehow we didn't pick the best for her, personally enrage me. I mean literally enrage me, and I don't use that word often. God damn I hate that man. Going for my blood pressure pills now.
