*exhale* i should stop looking at such ignorant voices out there on the 'net. seriously, i don't know why i let myself see such ignorance and simple-mindedness -- it's depressing. how can people be so blind as to not see that when they say hurtful things like "that child is going to need a lot of therapy", all they're doing is disguising their own fear and hatred of anyone not at all like them within "smart" sounding words that look like they care about the child? ugh.
i don't know. me whining about them here is not much help to anyone either, i know; it's just that i get depressed knowing what fear and ignrance exists in this world. am i as non-understanding and unable to see past my liberal queer vantage point and understand where they're coming from? i don' tknow, maybe i am.. .
sorry, thanks for letting me hijack your comments a little and spill out emotionally a bit.
you put it succinctly: "congrats!" is what you say when someone has a child. don't see why those commentators can't see that his giving birth is like anyone else's giving birth, when you get down to it... .

God forbid anyone mess with the binary gender construct! Alert the guards! The world canna' cope!
Congrats to the new family. Methinks that little girl is going to be just fine.

Oh, man, I don't even have to click on the link to know where it's going, and NO WAY do I want to read the comments.

People's fear of difference just jerks those kind of reactions out of them. That and the enjoyable habit of passing judgement on others. Personally, I just wish them well. As you say, Shannon, baby gets born then congratulations are in order.
