A Lazy, Over-Educated Thought
If Hillary Clinton says the hard-working white people without college degrees like her best one more time, I'm gonna have to slap her silly. Really.
hmmm... what's the opposite of a hard-working white person? hmmm...
How is she going to live with herself when, after all of this is over, she has lost anyway and her racist pandering is recorded forever? Is that really the legacy she wants to leave her daughter (um, not to mention the Democratic Party, not to mention the nation?): "When the going gets tough, white supremacy has your back?"
And why is no one in the media calling her on it??? Correct me if they have. Please.

I'm reading ministers supporting Hillary who suggest, in writing, that Obama's support comes only from Latte Lovers and African-Americans. His upcoming win in Oregon? That's because everyone knows that Oregon is dominated by limousine California liberals who wanted to have good public schools without having to deal with California's multi-ethnic society.

They're not calling her on it because they're doing it too. Daily Show had a clip show of Clinton, then all the commentators, saying "White people" "White people" "White people" over and over again.
Then again, I'm a lazy, overeducated person of color, so clearly I'm for Obama.

Oh my gosh, I couldn't agree more and was just having a similar thought! Sometimes it is amazing that people tolerate such offensive statements.

She did get called on it at CNN.
BLITZER: Now, your great friend and supporter Congressman Charlie Rangel said and I’m quoting now. “It’s the dumbest thing you could have said.”
CLINTON: Well, he’s probably right.
I copied that from a transcript of the interview here:

There's a video somewhere, I'm sure.

Not only that, she is screwing herself out of the vice presidency. No small thing to sneeze at, being the first woman VP.
In general, I'm getting tired of both sides playing victim to the Oppression Olympics, racism vs. sexism (however accurate their victimhood might be) and not looking at themselves and what they are doing to contribute to it. God, can this thing end already?

Lisa- I haven't really seen Obama call oppression. I've heard him talk about race and racism (including his own), but I haven't heard him say people aren't voting for him because he is black. I think that is likely true, that people aren't voting for him because of race. I've heard W.Virgina voters quoted as such.

The New Yorker (May 19 issue) has an editorial by Henrik Hertzberg that says this. He notes that Hillary has a record that would indicate that she is not a racist, and she should not say things like this.

Yeah, I keep wondering if the Hillary Clinton of 40 years ago would be surprised at this Hillary who is basically running as the "white candidate",i.e., somehow more electable because some white people are comfortable voting for white people. I bet that younger Hillary would be kind of horrified...
