Something Borrowed: A Meme!
I googled around to find an easy meme I like. Here's the link to the original. Please leave your answers in the comments or a link to your blog where the answers can be found!
Name up to 3 books you think everyone should read.
Name up to 3 authors you think everyone should read.
Name up to 3 books no one should read.
My answers later. Gotta feed the baby now!
ETA:
Here are my answers:
1. I think everyone should read Huckleberry Finn.
2. I think everyone should read Toni Morrison.
3. I think no one should read Tom Clancy, John Grisham or Stephen King. From what I've read/seen, the movies are a lot better than the books.

1. Everyone should read The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
2. Everyone should read books by Annie Dillard, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Michel Foucault (he's really readable! I promise!)
3. No one should read textbooks. Original sources allow one to make readings, judgments, determinations, etc. of one's own.

This is fun!
Should read:
1) Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf because it is an affrimation of self
2) The Diary of Anne Frank or Night by Elie Wiesel because it is an affirmation of love in the face of evil
3) The Diviners by Margaret Laurence because it is the affirmation of vision
Should read books by
Langston Hughes because his poetry is amazing and his language is beautiful
Fay Weldon because her caustic insight into human relations is breathtaking
Tom King (Aboriginal writer from Canada)because his insight is just eye opening and heart stopping
Shouldn't read Danielle Steele, Dr Phil or the Secret because their view of the world is ridiculous and limiting

Oh! I just finished The Appeal by John Grisham. It was fascinating and horrifying and so real. The theme is that big business is backing pro biz supreme court justices to reverse enormous tort awards. It was well written. I couldn't stomach Playing For Pizza at all, but when he sticks to legal books they are good. I read The Innocent Man and I loved it.
