Bodes Well for a Sibling Bed
Yesterday, we all drove up to Chicago to see Aunts Nancy and Laurel (of the beautiful wedding) who flew in to visit us and meet Selina for the first time.
On the way home, the girls, both exhausted from all the excitement and being up past bedtime, fell asleep in the backseat, holding hands across their respective carseats.
Awww!

Awww. There's nothing in the world like a sister. You know, I'd never considered a sibling bed but up to a certain age (I suppose whenever mutually desirable) it could be great for feelings of security and belongingness. I have a nephew who's the third baby and he has from the very beginning preferred to sleep touching somebody--anybody--and often ends up in his brothers' beds. My SIL has even considered a sibling bed, esp. since they're all boys. I suppose in adoption because attachment is so crucial that one more layer is all the better.

This is making me smile;it's so cute. And, I'm also remembering how much I HATED sharing a bed with my sister. I was cuddly, but she was way more so, and I remember just wanting to be left alone, but my mother insisted we share a bed. I was always drawing a line down the middle and telling her, "Stay on YOUR Side tonight." It never worked.
